Another option: DEMAND open standards like Massachusettes.
That way, you could roll out OpenOffice to the masses if Microsoft won't give you a deal. A large corporation could save millions. Governments could save billions. Just think how many millions of government employees have Office on their desk, but only type simple memos.

Well, time to save money. You can keep MS Office for now, but you must keep the OpenOffice pilot tests running to keep the pressure on Microsoft. With the proper pressure applied, you can get huge discounts.
