but...
businesses do not buy what IBM does NOT market. They never marketed linux - they DID market overpriced, undervalued, expensive propreitary HARDWARE under the guise of linux. They could have loaded ANY OS on those boxes and they DID load other OSes on them but for those PHBs who thought linux was 'cool', they installed linux on them.

But you could never buy a PC or notebook or even a server from their website with linux pre-installed and you still cannot do that today.
