Software does this job well. RFID is needed to spy.
Now stores have to use existing software and personal
anyway, plus RFID software, plus enormous data storage,
plus technicians to maintain it, plus extra non-reliable
protection from e-thieves, plus the RFID technology is not
reliable and will bring more troubles than help to stores.
Where are savings? It means that the purpose of RFID is not
stores but us.

P.S. Do not forget the RFID technology was not designed to
help stores but ... against people.
