My wife uses Word Perfect too. But, Word Perfect does not support OD yet.

They have only promised to support it in a future release. I would think they would want to have it ready by January 1st 2007 so agencies in Massachusettes that are using Word Perfect would be able to continue using it, and others using MS Word would consider it.

On supporting all of the various formatting options, I am no expert here, but I don't think it is rocket science like Microsoft would like you to think. If there are formatting features that need to be added, I am sure they will be added in a future version of the specification. But, with the current version of OpenOffice, you have a ton of formatting options, I can't see how the document format will be a limit.

And, I would switch back to Word Perfect in a minute if they had a Linux version and saved in OD format. I loved the reveal codes feature so I could go in and see what was going on.
