Hello to those in the know,

Just a question: I love the idea of open formats, in theory, but I don't particularly like OOO. I am a bigtime WP user, and I understand that WP supports OpenDocument (though I'm still using version 11). But are all features available? Is the format "infinitely" extensable so that if someone comes up with a novel and useful feature for a word processor or spreadsheet this can survive a save, or is it a fixed set of features. If it is the latter, then this potentially inhibits innovation in a big way!
