Probably the best point, is governments SHOULD stick it to the vendors and
demand lower costs and standard implementations. Since when are states responsible for helping maintain monopoly profits. They should not let the companies shove them around and tell them how the software will work and how much it will cost. We need to recognize that office suites are becomming a comodity and take advantage of that. In the future, state governments will NOT spend millions on office suite licenses. Just common sense.
