Why would anyone give YOU a dollar?

Although people will always give for good reasons, just like how charity and emergency relief works (remember hurricane Katrina for example); What I'm suggesting is far more workable, sensible and valuable to all parties.
As a matter of fact, all Universities I know of are already working on similar projects or at least students always do case studies or development in Open Source. But What I hope to see is much more dedication to Open Source development.
This is not difficult at all.
Imagine every University in the world adopting a GPL project and their student become experts who know it inside out. Good for everyone.
