Mike is very busy getting updates from his rep this morning, and asked me to post a note of explanation here for the less enlightened:

This is a wonderful renaissance in computing. Sure, Linux has in the past dominated the headlines of grid computing, but now the game is over. Microsoft was able to move quickly in this space because it has had high-performance features for several generations now, plus an innate ability to do network computing, including running remote agents. "We just had to find a way to channel that agent capability into performing work for us instead of them", quoth Mike's rep. "It is truly the best of both worlds...we have shown that thick-client computing is also high-performance, collaborative, and network-aware." These new features will be delivered in an upcoming security pack. Stay tuned.
