The toolbar that changed the world.
People speculated excitedly about what might happen with today's announcement. When the great moment arrived, everyone stopped what they were doing and watched.

Here it came... Sun will offer Google's toolbar with Java.

I enjoyed Scott McNealy's comment comparing what Sun could do for the toolbar to what Netscape did to encourage Java use. Yeah, not much difference in significance between Java and a toolbar, and Google needs the endorsement.

Then came the mysterious hints. My favorite was Mr. Schwartz's: "We're talking about putting our assets together so we can leverage each other's distribution".
I don't know what that means, but it sounds like something a lot more interesting.

Everyone excited about the day listened attentively, then went back to speculating about the same things they'd been considering before the announcement.
At least the event was dull enough not to waken some people from their dreams.
