That's because new board policy is to DISCOURAGE POSTS.
Not that hard to figure:

Cookies for IDs don't work. Did before.
No opportunity to edit posts. Could before.
Lousy threading display. Adequate before.
- Top-level thread-only display should have options.
- What's up with the dysfunctional "NEW" signage?
- And god forbid they should use the slashdot-type
display formats that allow a better thread view and
more than one post per page!

Then ZD wouldn't waste OUR time with "n-times" page
loads just for the page hit counts and advertising

One would think that this new board design is so awful
it could only have been designed by M$ to discourage
posts. Of course, ZD IS owned by the second-largest
M$ owner, Paul Allen...

Another view might be that ZD, the RICHEST computer
media empire is TOO CHEAP to buy a good board
system off the shelf, and doesn't have the
programming chops to adapt a good one... oh, that's
right, this is M$!

Silly me...
