Perhaps advertisers will learn...
Perhaps the advertising community will learn from this : you can't build a business model around pissing off all of your potential customers. I, and just about everyone I know, have sworn to never buy anything associated with x10 as a result of their on-line practices.

If an advertiser wishes to reach me, they must make their message both non-intrusive and entertaining. x10 did exactly the opposite, as their advertising was both boorish and intrusive. The internet is much better off without them.

We can only hope that the other marketing-droids are watching this, and that some of them still have enough instinct for self-preservation to learn from x10's well-deserved demise and change their ways ... but they probably won't.

Regards,
Jon

PS: These new boards are terrible. I'm sorry to say that I may be exiting the ZDN community shortly unless they are improved dramatically.
