We need a direct hit to start the monster bleeding.
We need Google and Sun to come out swinging. Microsoft is on to them. If Microsoft is forced to cut prices on either Windows or Office to maintain market share, you will see profits take a nose dive. Yes, Microsoft has billions in the bank, and will use every last penny to protect the twin cash cows, but they are getting increasingly bad press while Google has a huge cool factor and trust Microsoft can only dream about. And, this may be part of what it take to rejuvinate Sun. If Sun can execute on new Sparc processors and AMD based x86 servers, watch out.

Well, it will take a coordinated effort to bring the monster down. The entire industry will gain from the vaccum left by Microsoft.
