I think the best way is through a Firefox plugin that will allow even better interactivity and fast graphics.

Short term, quite right. Long term will take a quantum step over that, something to take the browswer to the next level as an application interface. That'll be a big step.

But this is a good transition environment to enable that development. If Google comes out with GoogleOffice and it offers slick integration with Google mail, I'd watch out in Redmond. Monkey boy is going to be throwing more chairs. Hehe.
