Wrong approach
You can't muscle Microsoft. They are big, they are smart, and while they can't write a good piece of software, they have bang up PR and leagal teams. The reason that Linux has taken such a large market share in the server market is because it is an organic entity without any real central orginization making things happen. The only thing that holds Linux companies together is a common belief in open source and the Linux kernel. That means that companies can be as great or terrible as they want to be. The whole reason SCO is wimpering so much is because it could not make an attractive Linux product. Others have. Linux succeeds because there is no target for big companies to shoot at. You can take down one or two, but more will pop up in thier place. While I am sad that United Linux is gone, I recognize that the brains and talent behind it is not, and those people will continue to make Linux work.

The reason killer bees can kill is not their individual strength, it is the strength they have in numbers. Linux won't win by becoming a conglomerate. Linux is strong when it has many voices with one purpose.
