That is easy to solve
HP could purchase DRM modules to run on linux. DVRs that have a linux OS use MS modules (codecs) to run on top of the OS so you can view MS content on the DVR or other appliance. It does have DRM in those codecs. They are putting DRM in everything. I believe this is the holdup on the new stuff that should have been released including Vista.
