How Amazon puts Linux to the test

Linux Myths: ``The transition received attention in 2001, when the company noted in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that moving to Linux had cut costs by $17 million.''

And that's until 2001. I am interested in the current cumulative figures since the switch.

But I feel ... puzzled: how come people can use linux to deploy heavy duty distributed applications AND save so much money? It cannot be done. MS has been screaming at the top of their voice that implementing linux will ... destroy everything related to civilized human activity????

I am certain that Mike Cox will immediately debunk this myth of saving money with linux. Mike we need you urgently....;-)
