Good idea
We have about 10,000 CPUs carrying the MS Enterprise licensing scheme at $279/per unit. In addition to the help desk at the main corporate office, we have nearly 100 field support people that must babysit the computers and users (5 for every computer and thin client). Do THAT math and you can see the costs involved in keeping MS around. Some of the higher-ups are considering the switch in our company, but it won't be soon enough for me!

When people ask for a good word processor suite for home use, I whip out a disk with Open Office and tell them to try it first. Most of the time, that's all they need and they don't get sucked up into the money pit.
