Your inclusion of the phrase "this CIO" in your posting and then subsequently becoming an extoller of "Billyware" would leave one to believe that you are "the CIO" of your imagination. Seems to be an appropriate position for someone who makes such a ridiculous statement.
I do agree with one part of your statement. If everyone used Microsoft products, the world would not be a "hodgepodge" of bad technologies. It would consist of only one bad technology.
