Dream world
If not Windows then Company X would be the dominant force with all the garbage gravitating towards them. The internet is more the cause than Windows itself. Too easy to spoof IPs, too easy to be anon, too much commercialization and too many idiots jumping online simply to play shockwave games and shop till they drop. The internet is a booming entity and as such the evil doers are there to take the naive, regardless of what they use to get on the net.
