Ax,

IBM for a long time was anti-PC. Sun for a long time stated that the "the network is the computer". Oracle was hot to promote the network-pc.

The road ahead is the road of pervasive computing, which is a term invented by IBM but means all electronics will have computing capability. Java was invented for pervasive computing. The notion of small appliances, toasters, shavers, phones, outboard engines, etc all being controled by Java 1 (personal Java) is a vision older than Vista.

Microsoft has been the only company standing in the was of that vision being fulfilled. Microsoft will get on board. You watch.
