It blocks too much
It's not useful for companies that can receive email from a potential customer at any time - the extra effort to send an email might turn away the customer.

It's also not useful for people who subscribe to mailing lists - the sender in this case *is* a computer!

The problem is with blocking legit email as well as spam!
