SPF is bad for many users
Yes, it's definitely nice to be able to reject spam that purports to be from AOL/Yahoo/Hotmail but is actually forged. The problem is that if you're a real user of those systems connecting from somewhere else, like work, you can't set up your email to look like it's from those addresses. Some email systems , like Outlook, don't let you insert Reply-To: headers. For Yahoo and Hotmail, the obvious answer is "It's webmail, so go log on", but does that work for AOL?

What I find ironic is that the main people pushing SPF are at pobox.com, who are a mail forwarding service that I've used for over 5 years. They sell you a permanent email address yourname@pobox.com that forwards to whatever ISP address you're using these days, and you set your outgoing email address on your mail client to say "Your Name " -- so if they set their SPF parameters tightly enough to prevent forged mail from pobox.com, it blocks mail from their own customers.
