Linux = Power5's make for a VERY sensible value proposition.
Linux has been available for Power4's for a
while. I believe the IBM R&D was with the aim
to run code for the Power5 processor
(MacG5).

I would guess that the popular "Mac on Linux"
(MOL) may benefit from that work, to run OSX
with OSX-specific 64-Bit code on the G5 for
Mac people.
