No, just like a graphics tablet.
Some of us have been using this technology for years. I
frequently use a Wacom tablet with my Mac. For graphics.

Anybody who thinks this is a good way to write text is just plain
dumb. I mean, Mac OS X has great handwriting recognition, and
it's a pretty cool "gee whiz" feature, but you never hear that
much about it. Why? Because nobody in their right mind wants
to write when they can type. Typing is faster, more accurate, and
doesn't make your hand cramp. If you have to write more than
you can fit on a Post-It note, you're better off typing.
