My view on their tablet features
Having a tablet PC myself, here's what I can see:

First off, I rarely use their handwriting recognition, simply because I learned touch typing long ago, and my typing speed far exceeeds my handwriting speed.

The biggest problem is when writing the lowercase "o" - it always translates as a zero no matter what I do! Yes, personalized training would help.

I'm not sure that the whole "droplet" thing is nothing much more than eye candy. I've never had any problems positioning my mouse using the pen's hover, and never had any problems knowing how many times I've tapped the screen.

And one last thing: Get more high-end Tablets on the market. A lot of college students are also gamers wink.

Tablet PCs are great for college students, BTW. I've found the ability to write on the screen great for classes that make heavy use of charts, diagrams, and PowerPoint presentations. Using GoBinder (a non-Microsoft product), you can import and write on PowerPoint slides - GREAT because you're no longer madly trying to type all the slides in and can concentrate on taking notes!
