OSX is the number one flavor of Unix.
OSX has passed all other flavors of UNIX to become number one.
Of course Apple is very big on the Desktop and Linux is used
more on servers. Also, there are quite a few Distros of Linux and
the comparison may counting each Linux distro individually, but
I doubt it. Apple is VERY popular.

The reason Microsoft is more friendly with Apple is because OSX
costs almost as much money as Windows so they are not the
threat that Linux offers by being FREE. Also never trust Microsoft
too far when it comes to working with someone. Anyone who
partners with Microsoft becomes devoured inside out.
