Both Quark and ID CS2 have issues.
Quark's issues are mostly old and InDesign keeps coming up
with new issues. It's really hard to compare. Quark's biggest
problem is that it wants to be everything for everybody. It's not a
Web design program. InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite have
brought in other problems like Font compatibility with programs
like Suitecase. It wouldn't be a problem if Adobe still made ATM
Deluxe, but that's history. I doubt the idea of Apple's Photo
editor is to compete with Photoshop. It's probably designed to
compete with Photoshop Elements. I'm more than a little POed at
Adobe for buying Macromedia. They're going to scrap one of the
best programs around, Freehand. I'm sure a little of Freehand
will make it to Illustrator, but Illustrator will never be as good as
Freehand. If Adobe wants to ensure their popularity forever they
should quit trying to be like Microsoft.
