The biggest thing they want to do is blur the difference between
Web standards and Microsoft proprietary standards. Then people will think they are using the "web", when they are using Microsoft technologies that lock them to Microsoft platforms.

Anyway, this sounds like a bunch of blithering idiots trying to figure out how to do web services.
