Microsoft thinks high end with Vista

You forgot a few things.

I told my rep that we'll also need to spend a crap load of money on enterprise level antivirus and antispyware software. We'll also need to update our expenditures to address the increased cost in licensing Windows and Office.

Oh, and we'll need to buy brand new computers just so we can can run the new version of the OS. We can't save money by using existing technology because Microsoft anticipates we'll need faster computers no matter what. Because people magically type faster in Word with a 3.4GHz computer versus a 1.8GHz computer.

When my boss asked me why we have to pay a yearly fee to Microsoft for the simple privelage of using Windows and Office, I told him to keep his point haired head out of it. CALs are essential in.. well... to keep... uh... stuff... going?

Then my boss asked me why we have to pay an additional percentage fee for support for a product that only updated once every 5 years, I told him because. Just because.

Then my boss asked me why we need Vista? What does it provide that XP and Server 2003 doesn't?
