You (galvin) are making his point ...
He is no claiming to be a geek. In fact he is simply saying that one should not have to be either wealthy or understand the ins and outs of color calibration to own and operate a PC. And I for one agree with him on those points whatever his limitations as far as understanding the technical side of monitors. The fact is Macs were way more expensive than Windows systems back then and attention to these details was one of the reasons. People had a choice. They could pay more money and tweak the colors or they could pay less money and live with what Windows could provide. For lots of people that was enough. Now they are trying to fix the problem in a way that it will all happen automatically without the need for calibration. And you guys are all cranky and irritated over it. Why? I use Linux and can calibrate my color dynamics, but most of the time things come out so good I don't need to. But a lot (most) of people just like to use Windows. What's wrong with that? When MS does something evil (and they often do), I'm one of the first ones out here slamming them, but whats the problem here that has your noses so out of joint? Sorry, but I just can't see it. The only thing wrong with this picture that I see is the fact that all of you people are so ballistic over this thing.
