My Recommendation to Novell

First off, Boost the hell out of marketing to include television ads, even if they defame Microsoft. Declare all out war and give out that wonderful TCO vs Microsoft Windows Server. Push OES as an application server. And for god sakes, get competitive with your prices. Just because you may have more overhead doesn't mean you need to charge higher prices for your NOS. Novell has the best NOS out there hands down, but they charge rediculous prices.

Push Novell Desktop, and Give some ATI and other drivers that work better for it as well.

3. Use the priciples of Linux and Opensource development to guide the support of the OS. Encourage forums and IRC and other real time support. Stop being all holier than thou with the customers. Treat them like customers for a change.

What is sad is what I hear so many times over and witness for myself. I have a Windows 2003 server and Novell 5.1 is still superior, in many ways. I don't care to jump to a new version because the cost of upgrade is about the same price as jumping over to Microsoft Windows 2003 Server.

So Novell, give off your collective @$$3$ and play some Hardball will ya?

I love the marketing on their web page, they just need to put in more places
