this isn't really about stopping the file swappers. It's about showing lawmakers how much effort they have to go through so that they can get tougher laws passed. And maybe even get the government to foot the legal bills.

IMHO, if the RIAA was truely serious about stopping copyright infringement, they would have come up with a better service. They have not. Most of this is just the last ditch effort of a dying trade group as it tries to hold on to its profit margin. In a few years, the RIAA - and probably many of the music companies - will be gone.
