Another day in monopoly, so what?
Oracle, Supergiant, Inc., wants to buy a competitor in the bush "hands-off the monopoly" economy and so what if they do, it helps them against Microshaft'R'Us everything under the sun software. What I really am wanting to know more is:
1. How much of this is driven by the fact that Oracle has the most to lose from MySQL and deals like this are about solidifying their database to a necessary enterprise software package and keeping out MySQL?
2. All of this hype on CRM and yet customer service is not getting better; especially at GE (mentioned in article).
3. What does it mean to SAP? Is SalesForce.com even relevant? Is their software totally on the web, I think that is the future, nudge, nudge, wink, wink OSS peeps?
Other than that, who cares much for them, they are selling out to the man or something, whatever...
