Religious
Do you think most people's attitude towards open source, even in the open source community, is really religious? Sure, there are the zealots on these talkbacks, but do you think that reflects the views of most of people?

I realize you come under heavy fire for your fanatical and extremist views regarding free market economies, but in reality most people lie somewhere between you and the GrindinAxtaRupy types.

Businesses are going to try to make money - only the Richard Stallmans of the world think that proprietary software is going to vanish. Unless Novell is managed by extremists, would you honestly have expected anything other than an announcement like this?

Basically what I am trying to say, in what is probably far too long winded of a fashion is - what was the point of your post? Did you think before that the people running Redhat, Novell, etc. view OS as a religion or just a way to make money? Personally, i think they've always been in it for the green, which is why they are still in business.
