it would take a big shift
it would take a big shift in how MS makes money. MS is
geared to making money for selling software. If they switch
to open source, theyll likely not be able to sell things for
such a high price, or will not sell as many copies. They
would need to shift and start doing support more than just
selling CDs. Of course i see this happening more over the
next 10 years if they go open source or not.
