JBoss/Mysql work perfectly well for small internet applications. I won't say that M$ hasn't improved SQL server over the years it is by no means a slouch, but until this "Secure Computing" initiative is completed your "MCSE's" will be staying after hours to combat the latest worm to cripple your servers.

The combination of Jboss/Mysql is very appealing to companes who need small business and web applictaions. For instance a IT department needs an inventory app, but does not have money in the budget to licenses then the combination of Jboss/Linux/Mysql is more than capable. The combo is not quite ready for enterprise critical apps, but with each version these products get better.
