Comprehension not required
"AJAX is just a new term for a bunch of technologies and design patterns that have been around for quite a while"

So a collection of common technologies, templates, and design patterns. Nope, that's definitely not any sort of "standard" at all.

Way to argue semantics and lose sight of the point. MS will conform to a set of standards and design models widely used by the industry. In the tech biz, we call this a "standard".

The level of misinformation and distortion on these forums is mind-boggling. There are a lot better reasons to complain about MS. Their attempts to use an industry standard is not one of them.
