War on terrorism - Patriot Act
First off the Patriot Act was a reaction to the attack on America. It was not well thought out, but it was passed to give Americans a feeling of protection, a false sense of ptotection that is. War on terrorism means nothing more than war on suspected terrorist (no proof needed). As already seen Iraq did not have any WMD and no ties to Al-queda. What I find ironic and disturbing about the Patriot Act and the Preemptive doctrine of our country right now,is that it is creating more enemies of our state and turning Americans against America openly and unopenly. Terrorism was used to established our country. Most countries who do not have a standing military aparatus and are oppressed by another country resort to terrorism for freedom purposes. I think the Patriot Act and other post 911 doctrines do nothing more than divide and create suspension of the US. I hope they repeal some of it if not all of it. I hope US stands back little and stop trying to control the world, because if we dont being American will be more of curse than a blessing.
