That...
"JellyClock's post was revelant since it points out that m$ is constantly contradicting itself."

Which is true, but not really relevant to this article. It also assumes things have remained constant in the 17 months since the quote he referenced, which is an eternity in the computing world. What is relevant is what they are revealing NOW (the entirity of which was not mentioned in the article) and to whom they are revealing it (also not entirely revealed) -- basically, at most a few hundred of their most ardent supporters and users.

"we all know mission critical computing is not done on windows"

Are you sure? Can you speak for everyone in the world? Don't make blanket statements of facts based on your opinion (right or wrong) of how things SHOULD be.

"the issue is if m$ made ALL codes available to be seen (WITHOUT restrictions), there would be evidence that they have borrowed (aka COPIED) codes without permission"

And you have proof of this allegation, or you are just supposing it to be true because you of your dislike for MS?

"m$ is a huge marketing machine - it's never about making the BEST at anything when more $ can be made with "just ok" wares"

The same could be said for most companies. It isn't relevant to the discussion at hand; it's just another one of those blind "let's throw lots of dirt at them, something will surely stick" type of things.

Everything you have brought up isn't relevant to the issue at hand; this is a stupid meaningless publicity stunt by MS. All of your arguments amount to re-hashed "I hate MS; MS is evil" crap.

What I find funny is that, because I do not subscribe to that way of thinking and don't choose to live my life in the "I hate MS" stewpot, you have assumed me to be an ardent MS fan (which I am not) who you need to correct by stating misinformation and calling me names.

And you said I had a simple mind?
