Ranting vs. needling.
Oh come now, Ax! My comment hardly qualifies as "ranting." A bit pejorative, perhaps, but meant in a spirit of jocularity.

While I have in times past heaped well deserved scorn and contumely, sometimes flavoured with a dash of vitriol, upon Microsoft, my gentle jab on this occasion does not merit the epithet "stupid rantings." Had my comments been those of a shrieking zealot, full of sound fury, signifying little but heartfelt emotion, then perhaps your desription might apply.

Methinks the gentleman doth protest too much.
