Western money-grubbers will soon be outsourcing to China then?
Does a company have an obligation to provide employment in its home country? Or, does a company have an obligation to return as much profit to its shareholders, by any mean, as it possibly can?

One of my previous employers has spent years training the Indian workforce who are now rendering hundreds of IT contractors redundant. Indian contractors used to do the same work as their UK counterparts - for 33% of the hourly rate. These workers were then shipped out after 2 years to prevent them being eligible for UK residency. They would be replaced by a new batch - repeat, for 5 years. Those workers no longer do the same job as their UK counterparts. The UK counterparts have been laid off and ALL the work has been offshored. Happy shareholders ... for now. Until the problems and pitfalls glaringly obvious to everyone at the bleeding edge come home to roost. So now we have a situation where China might be able to undercut India? In which case, its only a matter of time before UK companies switch the offshored work to China. Short-sighted, greedy and ethcally suspect ... that's the story in the UK. I don't know how this is playing out in the US.
