It's a semantics game *now*, not later
Keys are trivially revoked in the new system. That means even if keys are compromised in the new one and given to Linux, they will stop working.

If they followed best practices, the other keys will not be extractable (that was the flaw with CSS). The computational power to extract a key will be huge, and then *poof*, the key is gone.

It's going to take reverse engineering all of Vista to break this, rather than a single program. That's a heck of a lot more work than before. And if the security is distributed throught the player, the video card, the OS, it's even harder.

All of this is trying to address the theoretical flaw of DRM - try to make the attacker and authorized person different entities. Once that has happened, DRM is effective.

MS saying no would simply be more market pressure against it.
