Aligning with tech industry doesn't mean helping the workers
The article mentions several times how legislators "align with the tech industry". This means they support H1B visas and off-shoring, even though the same companies are laying off American workers in order to use these techniques to save money.

What everyone seems to forget is that the law enacting the H1B visa clearly states that workers hired under this program can only be hired for jobs where there are no others available. So how does a company LEGALLY justify laying off American workers to hire H1B workers? They can't. Fortunately for them all the legislators and regulators "aligned with the tech industry" are looking the other way and not enforcing the provisions of the laws governing H1B visas.

American workers should be first and foremost in the minds of all legislators. Offshore workers don't pay income tax. H1B workers pay less income tax on their lower wages. Our "big business" government seems to forget that to balance their checkbook they not only need to curb spending (which by the way they're not), but manage income (i.e. taxes).

If I ran my household this way I'd be bankrupt. But then again I can't just print more money....
