Just pointing out the facts
You see the problem quite clearly.

But when you have an eager beaver in management thinking he's clever because he just wrote a macro in Word using VB code he clipped off a website that realizes that programming ain't that hard and wonders why developers are being $100,000 a year then problems occur.

With this perception they figure any monkey with a few brain cells can code a few loops and an if statement around a drag and drop form.

And in 5 years when companies start feeling the effects of this as they crash and burn due to crappy spaggetti code patch work software that ends up costing business more than it's worth they will lose contracts and go under. Are those managers so clever saving the company big bucks only drive company into the ground and the CEO doesn't care because he's got his eyes on retirement with a huge bonus.
