Started deploying it....
When it comes to filesystems, Microsoft has always ruled the roost. NTFS was so robust. It never got fragmented and offered unreal performance. Although disk defrag utilities would recommend we defrag our servers, I always ignored them completely. Now that WinFS is here, I am ready to deploy. My rep delivered the bits today live and in person. He and MCS then presented for 3 hours on the value add for WinFS. We started deploying it on file servers immediately. My MCSD's already wrote some proof of concept code to query all of our users Word docs using .NET technologies. For some inexplicable reason, the servers need to be rebooted every hour, but our employees are so much more productive it does not matter. Most of them went home already for the day!
