Serious lack of Windows features
Maybe your partner asked you to connect with a Linux server because Windows (any version) does not inherently support NFS. You need third party software for that.
Maybe you should look deeper into Windows source code for the problem...oh yeah, I forgot... YOU CAN'T DO THAT CAN YOU?
