"IF" they get to drop the case
They'll be very lucky if they're allowed to withdraw the IBM case at this point, and they'll still have to contend with IBM and RH. There's a decent chance they're looking at summary dismissal, plus SCO is dealing with problems from their financial backers. Summary dismissal would seriously handicap any case against end users and between the investors calling in their markers and the legal indeminification, that's pretty much a dead end anyway. The chances of them surviving long enough to see through end user litigation are extremely slim.

Right now it's really hard to tell what they were thinking in the beginning. I can't see any way this could have come out good for them, but perhaps it's because I don't live in Utah and I'm not on crack.
