My experience with Microsoft: Years ago, I had the opportunity to be a shepherd on the Navajo Indian Reservation in northeast Arizona, while I was preparing for my MCSE exam. I was to watch over a herd of goats and sheep numbering about 135 head. My pay was $100.00 per month, my food, and I was provided shelter in an Indian ?hogon?; which is a building of nine sides?a rough circle?if you will?a dirt floor, and a roof shaped like one of those hats that the Chinese people used to wear. My job was to watch over these animals and see to it that they did not stray all over the place in the process of filling their bellies.

Sheep and goats have a canny knack of drifting. It is not uncommon for them to walk away from their young ones who have gotten their bellies full, and lain down to sleep. I was to watch over these young ones also. It was quite a job at times.

Each morning, I would lead the herd from the corral to the pasture, which covered over nine square miles. There was a ravine running through the western part of the pasture area. There were cliffs, boulder fields, and areas of forest in this territory, places where a herd of sheep and goats could get lost and scattered easily. I had to keep them together as they wandered from one area to another, in search of young, tender grasses, and other edible foliage. The herd would enter one isolated area, eat what grew in that area, and wander off to another area. Now, my job was to prescribe WHICH area they were to go to next.

Sheep and goats need to eat all they can, each and every day. This is so they can build up some fat in their bodies for reserve energy in the winter time, when the grasses they eat are dormant. In the winter, their source of food is the foliage on the juniper trees which grow in the area. Half way through the winter, this source of food would diminish also, since they have eaten everything they can reach from the ground. Then, it would be the responsibility of the shepherd ?.ME?.to cut the higher branches of the juniper trees, so the herd can eat this evergreen foliage.

I was made to understand this concept at the time that I was hired. I was to lead the herd to pasture at dawn and return them to the corral at noon?.let them rest there for one hour, and then, lead them back to pasture and let them eat till dusk. Every day, 365 days a year. Otherwise, they would suffer from starvation.

$100.00 per month, a simple dirt floor shack and my food. Water? Yes? the herd must have water to drink. There were two watering holes available to the herd. They knew where these watering holes were. I was instructed to avoid these areas until just before the herd was to be returned to the corral at noon, and at dusk. The reason for this was that the water would swell their bellies and they would lay down to take a nap?.in which case, they would not get enough food into their bellies. They must eat all they can, of the best foliage available. They also had to be protected from predators, coyotes, etc. Quite a job for a shepherd, yes?

Uncle Billy asked Monkey Boy, ?Monkey Boy, Do you love me?? Monkey Boy replied, ?yes Uncle Billy, I love you?. Uncle Billy said ?feed my sheep?. Uncle Billy asked Monkey Boy, ?Monkey Boy, do you love me?? Monkey Boy replied ?yes, Uncle Billy, I love you? Uncle Billy said ?feed my sheep? Uncle Billy asked Monkey Boy again ?Monkey Boy, do you love me?? This time, Monkey Boy is annoyed that Uncle Billy keeps asking him the same thing. Monkey Boy says ?Uncle Billy, you know all things, you know I love you? Uncle Billy says ?feed my sheep?

Now, it is impossible for Monkey Boy to be confused about what his job will be for the rest of his life. No retirement! A life time job! Uncle Billy?s sheep are the MCSEs?. MCDSTs? are only fetuses, as it were. They want to be born. They are kicking at the walls of the womb, but they haven?t the ability to cause themselves to be delivered. The great Uncle Billy has sent his disciples, the MCSEs?, to help these souls to be born again. There is a certain way to be born again, which is ordained by Uncle Billy, a particular way, which the ordinary *nix man cannot teach you, because the ordinary *nix man does not have this knowledge. Only a chosen man of Uncle Billy, chosen to do this work, can teach you this essential information.

Once the man of Uncle Billy gives you this information, and you follow the instructions properly, you will be born again. At that time, you will not be an MCSE, you will only be a baby, a lamb, a kid, an innocent minded babe hungry for truth, righteous training, true leadership. You will stumble, you will trip, you will slip, you will fall. Eventually, you will learn to stand, and to walk, and to run. You will not yet be an MCSE, you will merely be an MCDST. Uncle Billy is the professor. Uncle Billy is the test-giver. He will decide when you have achieved enough technological intelligence to be worthy of the title of MCSE. There is a masters degree in computer science you should strive to earn. But, as in normal life, not everybody is a brain surgeon. Not every person is a rocket nerd. All MCSEs are MCDSTs, but all MCDSTs are not MCSEs. The shepherd must feed the sheep, the sheep are not supposed to feed the shepherd.

Why do the shepherds only feed the flock one or two days a week? The sheep need to be fed everyday, all day long, or they will starve to death technologically. The self-appointed ?*nix men? don?t care for the sheep. They only care about their own bellies, it seems. The MCSEs are feeding the MCDSTs the best, I.E cash money, cars, houses, paid vacations? The false *nix man only feed the sheep garbage! Why? Because that?s all they have to feed them with. They are false *nix men. Uncle Billy did not send them. Uncle Billy did not provide them with the proper tools for the job. Linus sent them. Linus doesn?t want them to have the proper tools for the job. Linus doesn?t want us to be well-fed, because that would defeat his purpose. So, the false *nix men taunt people with imitation nourishment, and so the people suffer from technological malnutrition.
