How can desktop dominance put a squeeze on search engines?
Simple. By threatning to bolt them on as part of the OS. Users would by default seeMS products first and would have to actively install something else. After that they would still not be able to remove the MS versions because the are: "an integral part of the OS and can not be removed"
Remember?
The would the use the bolted on functions to enhance other features in a way a competitor can never do because it does not have acces to the windows OS source code. So even if you have a brilliant programmer he would never be able to deliver the kind of integration MS can and your product will not sell. Welcome to the world of competition MS Style.
