Are you saying the only reason they do not "fade away"now is because the bolted on browser and stuff? They could still give that away for free. They should just make it possible to remove and not install it by default. Give the user a qustion during install that asks them if they want to install IE or not. You must share my sentiments about MS if you think windows on it's own would not atracked many customers wink

I might not agree with a lot MS does but I think implying that without these services bolted on the OS the would fade away sells them short.
